Frequently asked questions
Short, plain answers about Tryck. Tryck is in early access and not open for sign-up yet.
- What is Tryck?
- A task app that also runs your home. It has tasks, habits and a focus timer, plus add-ons for chores, shopping, pantry, a private budget, time tracking and more. The add-ons are switches in Settings, so you turn on only what you use. The parts share data: a scanned receipt can fill the pantry, and a pantry that runs low can put the item on the shopping list.
- Who is it for?
- People who want their own tasks and their household in one app, alone or with the people they live with. It is built by one person (Otto, in Malmö) and used every day in his own home. If you only want a task list and nothing for the home, a plain task app is the simpler choice.
- Can I use it today?
- Not yet. Tryck is in early access and not open for sign-up. There is no launch date, so the honest word is soon. You can join the waitlist and get one email when it opens.
- Hosted or self-hosted?
- The plan is a hosted Tryck at tryck.app, where we run it for you. A copy that you run yourself on your own Cloudflare account exists today for technical people. What it will cost and on what terms is not decided, so email hello@ottr.studio if that is what you want.
- Where is my data, and who can see it?
- On Cloudflare's servers. Tryck's own usage counts (which buttons get tapped) hold no task text. Your money pages are private: people you invite to your home cannot open them. The public pages you are reading set no cookies and use no trackers; the privacy page says exactly what the waitlist keeps.
- Does it work offline?
- Partly. If the connection drops, what you type is queued and sent when it is back. Opening the app with no connection at all shows the last copy your device kept; it is not a full offline app.
- Which devices does it run on?
- Any browser on a computer or phone, as an installable web app, as an Android app and as a Windows app. There is no iPhone app: on an iPhone you add Tryck to your Home Screen from Safari. Everything stays in sync between devices.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing is for sale yet. These are the planned prices, which can change before launch. There will be a free base version (tasks, lists, plan, matrix, calendar, focus, habits, jots and reminders). Paid add-on packs: Home 39 kr€3.49$3.99 a month, Play 29 kr€2.49$2.99, Body 29 kr€2.49$2.99, Money and work 39 kr€3.49$3.99. Plus (all packs in one) is 99 kr€9$9.99 a month or 990 kr€89$99 a year, with a one-off lifetime option of 1 990 kr€179$199 for the first 100 buyers. A 14-day trial of Plus is planned and will need a card to start. People you invite to your home are free and share your packs. SEK prices include 25% Swedish VAT (moms). EUR prices exclude local taxes where they apply. USD prices exclude local taxes where they apply. The prices are set by hand for each currency, not converted live; the table below has a currency switch.
- How is Tryck different from other tools?
- Most task apps stop at the task. Tryck's point is that the household parts (chores, shopping, pantry, budget) live in the same place and feed each other. It does less than the big dedicated tools in some areas (for example it has no iPhone app and no team features). The comparison below goes through a few tools Tryck took inspiration from, using facts from their own sites.
- Can I take my data and leave?
- Yes. Settings, Account and data has a Download button that gives you everything Tryck keeps about you as one JSON file (tasks, notes, habits, settings, receipts; passwords and sign-in sessions are left out), and a Delete my account button. The money page also exports CSV.
- Why the name?
- Tryck is Swedish for pressure, push, and the press of a button. The slogan is Press on.

How Tryck compares
These are tools Tryck took inspiration from. The facts come from each company's own pages, read on 16 Oct 2026, and are paraphrased. Apps change their plans and prices often, so check their site before you decide. Where we could not confirm something, we say so instead of guessing. None of this says Tryck is better: they are different tools, and for many people one of them is the right choice.
Motion
- What it is: software that combines tasks, projects, a calendar, meetings and docs, with AI that plans your schedule.
- Platforms: a desktop app and a mobile app; which systems exactly, check their site.

- Tryck does differently: no AI auto-scheduling. Tryck is aimed at one person's tasks plus the home (chores, pantry, shopping, budget), not at team work or meetings.
